Back in my grade school days, this was always the point in the summer when I would start getting excited to wrap up my summer activities and get back to school. My mom would take my sister and I for a “back to school” shopping trip and we’d pick up a couple of things for the upcoming season. Then we always went home and immediately put on a fashion show for my dad. I loved the anticipation of starting off the school year in a new outfit. These days I still get nostalgic for that September energy. It isn’t quite the same without such a drastic shift in routine like we used to have, but it’s still fun to dress for it. This outfit reminds me of a more modern, grown up version of some of those fall looks I would try to achieve for school – classic colors, crisp denim, and minimal accessories.

Awww, this brings back many wonderful “getting ready for the first day of school” memories! I love the classic red and blue!

I love these flared jeans! and the combo with the knotted shirt is cool! About my back to school days, I only remember that I loved to get all my books and other stuff ready.

Your style posts are KILLING IT! So lovely. Who is photographing?
Thank you!! My husband photographs them! He’s not a professional, but that’s actually becoming less and less true. :)
Wow, that’s awesome! I may have to start putting some more trust in my hubby now! He took some headshots of me last year, but I never did much more.. need to do new ones!
I love the color of your blouse and that purse is to die for!! x
Oh my goodness, I love this post so much! You look absolutely beautiful, and those shots are so wonderfully evocative of what I imagine American high schools to be like (and I adore that that ‘back to school’ feeling too)
