With September just around the corner, I can’t help but daydream about leather jackets, booties, and jewel toned skinny jeans. I don’t know why I can’t hold off on getting excited for fall just a little bit longer. After all, it’ll still be summer in Southern California for at least another month or two. Maybe it’s the Minnesota in me – at this time of the year I start to smell the crisp leaves and feel the chill in the air – whether it’s really there or not. So in the meantime, I’m searching for inspiration in a few seasonless staples like flowy silk blouses, chunky chains, and black patent flats that will surely lead me to those autumn outfits I have on the brain. But to honor the last weeks of summer, I’ll try my best to keep the palette light and airy. For now.

I have to smile because I always have the very same dilemma … with my thoughts! I am always so anxious for spring to get here after a long winter that I try to wring every last drop of summer out while I can. But then August comes and you start to see the fall decorations in the stores and thoughts of fall are so tantalizing! It lures us in with memories of the smell of autumn leaves when they crunch and break apart under our feet, the memory of childhood memories like burning leaves and the smell and bonfires and s’mores … and what could be cozier than fall fashion. It tempts me to forget all about the pastels I longed for last winter and thinking that soon my sandals will be stored away and new boots are needed! I’ll have to force myself to stay in the moment! lol Have a wonderful week! xoSandy
